LANIS HYD - Lanolin Hydrogenated
In the hydrogenation process, lanolin is heated with a catalyst to a high temperature (330°C) at high pressure (180 atmospheres). It absorbs the hydrogen within half an hour.
Hydrogenated lanolin contains dihydrocholesterol, other hydrogenated steroids and some saturated alcohol. It is often used in cosmetic and pharmaceutical products because it's virtually colourless and odourless.
